The competition was open to all North American contractors involved in the walls and ceilings trade, including drywall, plastering, stucco, fireproofing, insulation, and several others.
The editors of Walls & Ceilings Magazine chose the 50 winners based on certain criteria, including: excellence in work, responsible business practices, progressive business model, and keeping current on business and industry trends.
Ace Resources, Inc. installs all forms of insulation in residential and commercial applications, as well as fireproofing for new commercial and retrofit applications.
“It is an honor to win this award,” says Mary Beth Yannessa, company president. “It feels good to have our hard work recognized.”
She feels it is her company’s outside-the-box attitude toward the construction industry, partnered with the desire to set themselves apart from their competition, that helped place them on the Top 50 list.
“We install the same insulation options that our competitors do for the people that want it,” Yannessa explains. “But we felt there was a niche and we saw the market for new types of products that other contractors aren’t installing.”
Those niche products include Wall Foam that is pressure-injected into existing stud-cavity walls; acoustical insulation for absorbing noise; and retrofit/patch fireproofing. With these products they are targeting, respectively, homeowners wanting a better investment than fiberglass; commercial clients like health-care facilities and lawyers whose businesses depend on confidentiality, and facility managers of schools, hospitals and senior living facilities requiring small-scale fireproofing to stay in compliance with fire codes.
Ace Resources’ commercial division serves Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and New York. Their residential division serves Montgomery, Berks, Chester, Delaware, Bucks, and Lancaster Counties within the state of Pennsylvania.
The company is headquartered in Pottstown, PA.
